Hello all, Holly here. Being involved as a TA for the MOOC has been a positive learning experience for me, as it was a new venture into a diverse community of science educators. There have been some really great discussions within the past 9 weeks – a lot of creative ideas being shared and well received constructive feedback from fellow MOOCer’s. We have received multiple comments from students that the connection with this professional learning community is energizing. Consistent participation in the weekly discussions is essential in making the course a success. Posting early on in the week provides more opportunities for others to respond and engage in enriching discussions. As the number of participants dropped since the beginning weeks, groups have collaborated and some have found that they enjoy chiming in on discussions across multiple groups, contributing different perspectives and introducing new ideas to a variety of science educators.
